Anderson Feed Company is a family-owned and operated business dedicated to providing premium zoological nutrition. Founded by Randy Anderson, the company manufactures and distributes NuZu® Feed to premier zoos, wildlife preserves, and private institutions across the nation.
A Foundation in Quality Assurance
Randy’s career in animal nutrition began long before he launched his own company. Over the course of 24 years with one of the leading feed manufacturers in the United States, he mastered the industry from the ground up. He served as a Production and Sales Coordinator for seven years—managing inventory, budgeting, and supporting a network of 65 dealers nationwide. Later, as a Quality Control Supervisor for four years, Randy took charge of FDA compliance, state and federal inspections, ingredient testing, and preventing cross-contamination to ensure flawless pellet quality.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to build a lasting family legacy, Randy channeled this extensive expertise into creating Anderson Feed Company. Today, he proudly operates the business alongside his wife and three children.

What started as a boutique operation supplying a handful of products to local facilities quickly expanded. By consistently delivering reliable, health-focused nutrition, Anderson Feed Company earned the trust of the zoological community nationwide. Randy’s deep background allows him to bridge the gap between rigorous manufacturing standards and the precise, real-world needs of exotic animal caretakers.
To maintain this standard, Randy provides a level of personal care that sets the company apart. He travels every year to visit client zoos, conducting on-site research to observe firsthand how the feed is performing.
“My experience is in putting ingredients together to craft a product that delivers proper nutrition, tastes great to the animals, and fits their natural eating habits,” says Randy. “We blend decades of domestic livestock research with cutting-edge exotic animal studies. By collaborating with elite nutritionists across the country, we gather diverse perspectives that guide our innovation and keep our feeds at the forefront of the industry.”
